In Memoriam

Les Mehrhoff

Our dear friend and colleague Les Mehrhoff died suddenly on December 22, 2010. Les founded the Connecticut Invasive Plant Working Group (CIPWG) in 1997 and served as Co-chairperson for many years.  His knowledge of invasive plants and preserving biological diversity is the reason that CIPWG exists today.  Les served as Director of the Invasive Plant Atlas of New England (IPANE) and was involved in many other organizations, including the Connecticut Botanical Society, the New England Wild Flower Society, and the Connecticut chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Les inspired so many with his passion and enthusiasm for all living things. Les will be dearly missed. We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Olga and daughter Jessie.
