This educational program will feature the following topics of interest to those who produce spring crops:
· Update on Managing Insects and Mites on Spring Crops, Leanne Pundt, Extension Educator, University of Connecticut
· Update on Nutrition, Chemical Growth Regulators and other Production Tips, Richard McAvoy, Extension Specialist, Greenhouse Crops, University of Connecticut
· Update on Emerging Diseases, Nutrition & Plant Diseases & New Fungicides for Spring Crops, Wade Elmer, Plant Pathologist, CT Agricultural Experiment Station.
· Update on Pesticide Safety, Sarah Bailey, Master Gardener Coordinator, University of Connecticut
In order to reach greenhouse growers throughout the state, this same program will be offered in two separate locations.
On Tuesday, February 9th, this program will be offered from 10 to 2:30 p.m. at the Tolland County Extension Office at 24 Hyde Avenue in Vernon, CT. 06066.
On Tuesday, February 23rd , it will be offered from 10 to 2:30 at the Litchfield County Extension Center at 843 University Drive in Torrington, CT.
PESTICIDE RECERTIFICATION CREDITS - 4 CREDITS!
This
educational program has been approved for 4 pesticide
recertification credits by the CT DEP.

Tuesday, Feb 23rd, Litchfield County Extension Center: From Route 8 North, take exit 44, go straight at first traffic light, go left at second traffic light onto Route 4 and proceed 2.75 miles, turn right onto University Drive and proceed 1 mile to Litchfield County Extension Center on the UConn Torrington Regional Campus. From Route 8 going south, take Exit 44. Turn right onto Route 4 and proceed 2.75 miles; turn right onto University Drive and proceed one mile to the Litchfield County Agricultural Center on the UConn Torrington Regional Campus.
