Located on the south side of Holcomb dorm near Horsebarn Hill Rd.
- leaves alternate, elliptic-lanceolate, serrate margin
- leaves have an oblique base, glossy green color
- leaves smaller than U. americana
- buds small, clack, globular
- stems thin, gray-green, smooth
- bark thick and corky, with fissures
- flowers and fruit usually not seen
- habit is a large, irregular tree with open habit
- branchlets on perimeter of tree are often pendulous
- tree is messy, with debris such as twigs and branches beneath canopy
