Tatarian Honeysuckle
Located on right side of Ratcliffe Hicks Bldg.
- leaves opposite, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate
- leaves bluish green, with smooth margins
- buds flat, imbricate, often superposed, brown, not pubescent as
with L. maackii
- buds divergent, held at a 90° angle to the stem
- stems smooth, green turning brown, not pubescent as with L. maackii
- flowers pink-white, tubular, in axillary pairs, in early spring
- fruit is a red berry, not persisting late as with L. maackii
- habit is an upright shrub, multi-stemmed and irregular
- plant is very twiggy and dense, often ragged in winter
