Located on corner of Wood Hall facing Wilbur Cross.

  • leaves opposite, rounded to obovate, with toothed margin
  • leaves dark green, reddish in fall
  • buds imbricate, brown red, somewhat pubescent
  • flower and foliar buds similar
  • stems brown, pubescent when young (contrast with the glabrous stems of V. wrightii)
  • flowers white, in flat-topped clusters, profuse, in mid-spring
  • flower pedicels somewhat pubescent (contrast with V. wrightii)
  • fruit is a oval red drupe, bright red, persistent, becoming withered in time like a raisin
  • fruit is very small for a viburnum
  • habit is an upright, multi-stemmed shrub
  • plant may become leggy with age
