Located in courtyard of graduate residences.
- leaves opposite, ovate, with irregular minor points on margin
- leaves blue-green, reddish in fall
- buds imbricate, green with reddish tip, pointed, smooth
- terminal bud very large and pointed
- stems smooth, gray, rather thick
- flowers white, in small flat-topped clusters, in mid-spring
- fruit is an oval drupe, bright red-orange, distinct, long-lasting
and profuse
- fruit hangs down in clusters
- habit is an upright, multi-stemmed shrub
- plant is very often leggy at the base with an arching shape
