Located in courtyard of graduate residences.

  • leaves opposite, ovate, with irregular minor points on margin
  • leaves blue-green, reddish in fall
  • buds imbricate, green with reddish tip, pointed, smooth
  • terminal bud very large and pointed
  • stems smooth, gray, rather thick
  • flowers white, in small flat-topped clusters, in mid-spring
  • fruit is an oval drupe, bright red-orange, distinct, long-lasting and profuse
  • fruit hangs down in clusters
  • habit is an upright, multi-stemmed shrub
  • plant is very often leggy at the base with an arching shape
