Located on the east side of the Ratcliff Hicks Bldg.

  • needles arranged 5 per fascicle, stiff, somewhat twisted
  • needles distinct blue-green color, short, curved, smooth margins
  • buds oval, not sticky, yellow-brown, small
  • stems smooth, brown to gray
  • cones short (2"-4" long), often very abundant even on young plants
  • habit differs from plant to plant, often very irregular and non-symmetric
  • plant is usually a small to medium tree
