Abies concolor
White Fir
Pinaceae
Located on the northeast side of Hawley Armory.
- needles long (2"-3"), chalky blue color
- needles radiate around stem, tip rounded
- needle color similar on top and bottom of leaves
- leaf scars round, like "suction cup"
- cones disintegrate when mature, not found on ground
- form is pyramidal and dense, even with age
- young bark smooth with resin blisters, forms plates with age
