Located on the northeast side of Hawley Armory.

  • needles short (.5"-1"), borne densely on stems
  • needles dark green above, lighter stomatal bands below
  • needle tips are blunt and notched
  • needles borne mostly on top side of stems
  • branches short, narrow form
  • cones disintegrate when mature, not found on ground
  • leaf scars round and like "suction cup"
  • young bark smooth with resin blisters, more plated with age
