  • needles evergreen, 1" long
  • needles blue-green, slightly curved
  • needles borne from short spur-like branches along stems
  • branch structure open and horizontal with age
  • bark smooth and gray when young, rough and plated with age
  • cones stand upright on upper branches
  • habit is a medium to large tree with spreading, horizontal branches
