Abies homolepis

Located on the east side of Benton Art Museum.
- needles 1"-2" long, densely cover stems
- needles dark green above, lighter stomatal bands below
- overall needle length becomes shorter towards tip of branches, lending
a "tapered look" to twigs
- young twigs have grooves between needles
- leaf scars rounded, like "suction cups"
- cones disintegrate when mature, not seen on ground
