Located on the east side of Benton Art Museum.

  • needles 1"-2" long, densely cover stems
  • needles dark green above, lighter stomatal bands below
  • overall needle length becomes shorter towards tip of branches, lending a "tapered look" to twigs
  • young twigs have grooves between needles
  • leaf scars rounded, like "suction cups"
  • cones disintegrate when mature, not seen on ground
