Located on the north bank of Swan Lake near the intersection of N. Eagleville Rd. and Glenbrook Rd.

  • needles deciduous, tree bare in winter
  • needles light green in spring, deep green in summer, orange/brown in fall
  • needles borne from spur-like growths along stems
  • needles without stomatal bands underneath, unlike Pseudolarix
  • spurs shorter than Pseudolarix, less distinct constrictions between growth rings
  • cones with reflexed scales, rose-like appearance
  • cones remain on tree when mature, unlike Pseudolarix
  • habit more twiggy than Pseudolarix, rough texture in winter
