Located on northeast side of Beech Hall (group).

  • needles 1" long, very stiff and sharp to touch (hurtful)
  • needles borne radially around stem
  • needles vary in color, green to deep blue
  • needles often have dieback damage from Spruce Gall Adelgid (brown, thickened areas)
  • cones 3"-4" long, 2 teeth per bract end
  • cones light brown
  • habit dense when young, more open with age
  • branches horizontal and stiff, no pendulous branchlets
