  • leaves scale-like, white lines on underside
  • leaves dark green in summer, yellowish in winter
  • leaf tips pointed
  • small stems are thin, rounded and thread-like
  • small stems often dangle down
  • form is a loose, pyramidal small-medium tree
  • plant often shrub-like when young
  • cones rounded, small, brown when mature
  • bark orange/brown, peeling in vertical plates
