Hall.
- needles short, .25"-.75", deep green above and lighter
beneath (stomatal lines)
- needles 2-ranked, borne in one plane
- needle tips pointed, margins minutely serrated
- tips of needles short, pointed
- habit is a pyramidal large tree, branches droop gracefully
- plant may be seen as a pruned hedge
- bark fissured/furrowed, brown
- cones small, to 1" long, bracts do not open fully
- stems often have cottony white material at base of needles, from
