- leaves tiny, scale-like, medium green
- leaves two-ranked, adpressed to stems
- leaf tips pointed, white lines underneath
- branches flattened
- cones small, spherical, brown when mature
- form pyramidal and loose
- bark orange/brown, shredding, vertical plates
