lot.
- leaves evergreen, alternate, elliptic or lanceolate
- leaves thin, droop down from stem
- leaves have smoother margins than P. japonica, very slightly
crenate
- flower inflorescence held upright, not drooping as is P. japonica
- flower buds present all winter
- flowers white, bell-shaped, early spring
- fruit are brown capsules, held upright
- habit low, mounded multi-stemmed shrub
- habit lower than P. japonica, 2'-6'
- plant does not have problems with lacebugs
