Located in planter bed in front of Personnel Bldg.
- leaves opposite (unlike Ilex), evergreen, linear to oblong
- leaves dark green in summer, bronzy in winter
- leaves have visible points (serrations) on margin toward leaf tip
- leaves may have "squared off" ends when old
- buds very small, opposite, oval, appressed
- stems slender, angled, brown
- flowers small, green/red, in clusters, early spring
- habit low groundcover, lax branches, neat and compact (seldom over
12" tall)
